Let Us All Breathe Together: Scholar-in-Residence Weekend

A congregational rabbi for seventeen years, Rabbi Sheila Peltz Weinberg is also an author of several books that address parenting, social justice, and spiritual direction. She is the creator, and co-director, of the Jewish Mindfulness Teacher Training Program and serves as the spiritual director to students and faculty at the Reform movement’s Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York.

Relax, restore, and just breathe with us. Through engaging sessions, Rabbi Weinberg will help us explore, meditate, and find our own spirituality and wisdom within.
Come to one or come to all of the sessions as your schedule permits.

Friday, March 8

7:00 pm Shabbat Evening Service (Open to congregants and the community.)
Share in Shabbat plus delightful pre-service refreshments (6:15 pm) and post-service Oneg. Our scholar will add her unique touch to our weekly worship. 

Saturday, March 9

Rabbi Weinberg will lead three Shabbat Learning Sessions, sharing her insight and guiding us through prayer exploration, spiritual practice, and personal meditation. (Learning sessions will be hosted as Hybrid. Come to one or come to all of the sessions as your schedule permits. Open to adult congregants and community.)
9:00-10:15 am “Morning Blessings Practice”
10:15-10:45 am Schmooze with Rabbi Weinberg and enjoy coffee and light refreshments.
10:45 am – 12:00 pm “The Shema: Receiving and Extending Love”
12:00 pm Lunch with our scholar and fellow participants.
1:30-3:30 pm “Family Stories: What We Can Learn from The Children” 

Sunday, March 10

9:30 am – 12:00 pm (Open to adult congregants.)
“When I See You, I See the Face of God: Dealing with Negativity Through Spirituality”
Inspirational and reflective moments infuse our concluding brunch, hosted by the Scholar-in-Residence Committee, Adult Education Committee, Sisterhood, and Men’s Club.

 

Registration is required for all programs by March 1.
Sponsorship ($180 per person) supports this weekend and includes a copy of Rabbi Weinberg’s book.
No charge for events.
This weekend is a gift to the community, supported by the Helen and Leon Weinberg Scholar-in-Residence Endowment Fund. Donations to the Fund are appreciated to support future programming.
