Guest Speaker: Rabbi Menachem Creditor
Kol Ami Adult Education welcomes Rabbi Menachem Creditor
Wednesday, November 11, 7:00 pm
in person at Congregation Kol Ami or remote via secure livestream
Rabbi Menachem Creditor is an acclaimed author, educator, musician, and activist. We will enjoy an inspiring presentation that unites Jewish tradition, spiritual imagination, and moral leadership, and leads us to think deeply, feel honestly, and act with courage.
In his collection of essays, The Covenant of “And,” Rabbi Creditor confronts anti-Zionism, Jewish vulnerability, communal division, and the moral challenges of sovereignty. More than a response to the present moment, it argues that Zionism gives modern political form to an ancient Jewish commitment to peoplehood, land, dignity, agency, and responsibility. *The book is available for purchase ($12) with registration by October 20.
Rabbi Creditor serves as the Pearl and Ira Meyer Scholar in Residence at UJA-Federation of New York and as Senior Lecturer at the Academy for Jewish Religion. He was named by Newsweek as one of the fifty most influential rabbis in America.
No charge to attend. This program is a gift to the community, supported by the Helen and Leon Weinberg Scholar-in-Residence Endowment Fund. Donations are appreciated to support future programming.
Registration required for both in-person and livestream by noon, November 6.
