Tikkun Olam at BookSmiles

Kol Ami and Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill want to build our relationship as well as help our community by participating in a joint service project at the BookSmiles warehouse in Pennsauken.

Members of the Social Action/Social Justice Committees of Congregation Kol Ami and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cherry Hill will work together—performing a mitzvah by sorting books and bonding with others committed to making the world a better place. It’s a win-win morning!

As we are limited to a total of 15 volunteers for this session, registration will be required and will be closed when we reach 15.

Some things to know…
• You will be sorting in a warehouse. Please wear closed toe shoes to protect your feet!
• It is dusty and your hands will get a bit dirty. There will be disposable gloves for your use.
• It can get hot even in the spring, depending on the weather. They do not have A/C in the warehouse, only fans. Of course, it could also be cool, so dress accordingly.
• You may bring books to donate with you when you come – or any other time 24/7. There are bins outside the building.
