The Torah of Belonging

The Torah of Belonging
Led by Rabbi Ariel Milan-Polisar
Three Wednesdays, January 14, 21 & 28, 10:30-11:45 am (Hybrid)

Join Rabbi Milan-Polisar to explore her learnings thus far from the 18Doors Rukin Rabbinic Fellowship. One of the biggest challenges that faces the Jewish world today is how we decide who belongs in our spaces, on our bimah, and in our ritual practice. We will explore questions such as: what’s the data telling us about interfaith families and belonging in Jewish communities? How has the Reform movement evolved over the last few decades in figuring out who belongs in our spaces? What does Torah teach us about belonging, and how can we apply that to constructing a community of belonging?

Together, we will explore how Jewish communities define belonging by looking at data on interfaith families, the Reform Movement’s evolving approach to belonging, and Jewish texts on building inclusive communities.

This series is offered at no cost for congregants and $10 per session for non-members.
