This engaging book is a historical novel that explores the lives of Yemini Jews in Israel set across two timelines: the 1950’s and the 1990’s. The story follows Zohara Haddad, who returns to Israel for her mother’s funeral, while reflecting on her family’s past immigrant experience. The story is heartbreaking and optimistic, showcasing history and romance and intertwined with family dynamics and politics.
