Haman, Amalek & the “Why” of Antisemitism\nPresented by Rabbi Laurence Kotok, D.D.\nAnti-Judaism and Antisemitism has been part of the Jewish experience from the biblical experience to the beginnings of Christianity 2000 years ago. Antisemitism has shaped our experience and self-definition through the Middle Ages until today. October 7 and its aftermath of global antisemitism directed at Israel, college campuses, and Jewish communities has called into question our understanding of ourselves and our position in society.\nRabbi Kotok will lead a discussion of the impact of antisemitism on Jewish identity and self-awareness and how we must find our new path forward.\nNo charge for congregants. $15 per device for non-congregants.\nThis program will be presented via Zoom only. Registration is required to receive Zoom login information.\nOn the faculty of St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, Boynton Beach, Fl since 2016 as Professor of Systematic Theology, Dr. Laurence Kotok has also taught at the Colgate Rochester Divinity School and the New York Institute of Technology. A certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, he currently serves the Palm Beach Sherriff’s Department, engaged in research, counseling, and Suicide Prevention. He has also been involved with the U.S. Congressional Commission on Drugs & Drug Education. He has served on panels at the Hastings Center for Bioethics Research focused on the pressing issues of medical ethics, bio-ethics, gun violence, homelessness, nutrition, and food insecurity.\n
