SUMMARY:Raab/Goodwin Eyewitness Testimony Series: Helen Rieder
DESCRIPTION:Screening of Helen Rieder Testimony\nWednesday, May 29, 7:00 pm\nat Congregation Kol Ami\n\nMany of the Holocaust survivors and Concentration Camp Liberators in our community have had their testimonies that recount their experiences during the Holocaust recorded by the USC Shoah Foundation, the World War II Museum, and other filmmakers. Knowing the importance of remembering the experiences of our community’s Survivors and Liberators and finding ways to learn from them, JCRC’s Raab/Goodwin Center and the Jewish Federation of Southern NJ have joined together to compile and edit Survivor and Liberator stories, following their journeys as they navigated the horrors of the Holocaust and World War II.\nTo honor the Survivors and Liberators and learn about the consequences of hate and so many other important lessons the experiences teach us, we invite you to join us as we screen these videos and give the community the chance to hear these eyewitness testimonies. Following the screening of the individual testimonies, family members of the Survivors, Liberators, and Directors of the films will answer questions from the audience.\nIn addition, students at Kellman Brown Academy interviewed four Holocaust survivors in our community as part of the Names Not Numbers project. This video will also be shared, so we can all discover, as the Kellman Brown students did, the importance of learning from those who experienced life during the Holocaust and empowering us all to promise, Never Again.\nAll screenings are free and open to the community.\nPre-Registration is required.\n \nThursday, March 21, 7:00 pm\nScreening of A String of Pearls: The Small Miracles of Charles Middleberg\nLocation: Congregation Beth El\nMonday, April 8, 7:00 pm\nScreening of Kellman Brown Academy Names Not Numbers\nLocation: Temple Beth Sholom\nWednesday, May 29, 7:00 pm\nScreening of Testimony – Helen Rieder\nLocation: Congregation Kol Ami\nTuesday, June 18, 7:00 pm\nScreening of Testimony – Erna Roth Anolik\nLocation: Moorestown Library\n
