DESCRIPTION:Touching God’s Face: An Uplifting Exploration of the Human and Divine (Hybrid)\nLed by David Zinner\nThursday, November 5 at 7:30 pm\nJoin us for an interactive, intellectual dive through history, melody and mystery—an energizing, yet deeply reflective exploration of the human and divine face. We will bridge the gap between ancient prophets and contemporary icons, weaving a single, inspiring story out of an unexpected cast of characters including Bartlett, Kretzmer, Noonan, McGee, Jacob, Moses and the Chevra Kadisha. Part lively discussion, part trivia quiz and entirely inspiring!\nDavid Zinner is the co-President and co-founder of the Jewish Association for Death Education (JADE). Together with Susan Kramer, they guide all aspects of JADE’s work, including the development of JADE’s Hineni tool, a comprehensive overview of 14 end of life topics, and JADE’s three monthly webinars on Jewish end of life topics. JADE supports field educators in seven communities. Their mission is to increase awareness, appreciation, and adoption of Jewish end of life practice by providing guidance, resources, and educational tools for the Jewish community.\nDavid was the founder and is the retired Executive Director of Kavod v’Nichum (Honor and Comfort). As Executive Director for 20 years, David taught hundreds of Tahara (ritual washing and preparation of a body before burial) trainings, developed and managed the organization’s website, coordinated annual conferences, and wrote curriculum and taught classes for Kavod’s Gamliel Institute.\nThis program is offered at no cost to congregants and $15 per person or screen for non-members.\nRegistration is required by Tuesday, November 3.\n \n\nFirst Thursday programs bring you guest speakers, including congregants and rabbis from around the country, to share their expertise on topics of interest.
