SUMMARY:First Thursdays: Strategies to Help Our Families Cope with Difficult Times
DESCRIPTION:Strategies to Help Our Families Cope with Difficult Times \nPresented by Raechel Hammer\nJoin us for a one-hour interactive session that weaves together the wisdom of Jewish texts with practical, hands on tools for strengthening communication across generations. In today’s digital age, when constant connectivity can make meaningful conversations even more challenging, we will explore timeless teachings and learn strategies to foster understanding, resilience, and connection within our families—especially in difficult moments. Participants will leave with both spiritual insight and concrete approaches to support healthy, meaningful dialogue at home.\nThis program is offered in person at Kol Ami and via password-protected livestream.\nNo cost for congregants; $15/person for non-congregants.\nRegistration required.\n \nFor more than 25 years, Raechel Hammer has worked in social services and non-profit leadership, focusing on communication skills, change management, and supporting individuals with mental health challenges and disabilities. She has served as Executive Director of Jewish Family and Children’s Service in Southern New Jersey and held senior roles at the Monell Chemical Senses Center, the Library Company of Philadelphia, KleinLife, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. Raechel lives in Cherry Hill with her husband, Michael, their two children, and two rescue dogs, and is a long-time member of the Kol Ami family.\n \n\nFirst Thursday programs bring you guest speakers, including congregants and rabbis from around the country, to share their expertise on topics of interest. We will also include several discussions of films with Jewish themes.\nSponsored by our Adult Education Committee.\n
