Who will pass by fire, and who by flood, who will pass in their old age, and who before they are ready… \nThe prayer also holds out a promise that our actions matter and have meaning and consequences. It’s not too late – teshuvah (repentance), tefilah (prayer), and tzedakah (charity/righteous action) can avert a bad decree.\nWhat does this prayer really mean? What is the nature of teshuvah and what are its limits? What is the role of the self in tefilah? And what does it mean to put tzedakah in action?\nThere is no cost to congregants; $10/session for non-members. Registration is required.\n
